His name is Rafael Pizarro and he is a member of the Chilean Association of friendship with the Saharawi Republic. A profile that does not exist and a fictional character invented by the Moroccan service of propaganda and disinformation to target the Polisario Front, the Saharawi republic and Algeria.
The story begins in the Moroccan sponsored social media accounts specialised in fake news claiming that a renowned academic figure known by his support to Polisario has retreated back to embrace the Moroccan autonony plan in occupied Western Sahara, but as it went unnoticeable, the news went up to be adopted and dwelt on in the Moroccan press as Morocco official news agency MAP had dispatched in drumbeat. The closest online site to the Moroccan monarchy, le360.ma made a long article in which it further extended the fake information making up more fictional events. In its article titled “ les mensonges du Polisario mis à nu par ses anciens soutiens au Chili”, this closest site to the Moroccan king says that the information is based on an article in a Chilean news site Elsiete.cl. A quick click on this site provides no information on the subject matter and a search on the name Rafael Pizarrio leads to nowhere. Besides, this website is known by its connivance and proximity with the Moroccan embassy in Chile and fabricating such fictional stories is part of the wicked propaganda to denigrate the Polisario front that cherishes a wide support among the political and civil spheres in Chile.
Contacted to comment on the fake information, the president of the Chilean Association of friendship with the Saharawi Republic, Esteban Silva Cuadra, expressed his astonishment to such Moroccan lies and said that the person named Rafael Pizarrio does not exist and his membership to the Chilean Association of friendship with the Saharawi Republic is a pure fiction. Esteban reaffirms the Moroccan scandalous lies through a communique he later released.
Esteban says that “This article, which has been mainly reproduced abroad and translated into Arabic and French by the official Moroccan Press agency MAP, has been written by Moroccan intelligence in response to my interview recently with the Spanish Diplomatic Portal denouncing the Moroccan methods.”
In his his communique , Esteban asserts “I believe that such Rafael Pizarro either does not exist or is a member of the Moraga group of renegades who work for the foundation… that is financed by Morocco in Chile against the Sahrawis”
Esteban stresses on the fact that “the article is full of lies and also seeks to wash the face of Morocco’s main agent and mercenary in Chile, former CNI informant Juan Carlos Moraga”
